This October, Peter Belhumeur will be awarded the 2011 Edward O. Wilson Biodiversity Technology Pioneer Award For Co-Pioneering
The award, which honors individuals who have significantly contributed to the preservation of biodiversity on Earth, will be presented by Dr. Edward O. Wilson, Professor Emeritus, Harvard University, a biologist recognized worldwide as the Father of Biodiversity, in a public forum of 2,500 individuals in Bozeman, Montana attended by Montana U.S. Senators, U.S. House Representative, Governor and various luminaries from the scientific, engineering and technical fields. The co-recipients are Peter's collaborators, John Kress and David Jacobs.
